With so many audio players over the Internet, most users often look for programs that offer the freedom to customize their playlists, play the songs at a certain frequency, etc.
The program I use on a daily basis and gives me access to various configurations is Winamp. If I have to compare this advanced audio player with CometPlayer, I guess it's safe to say that Winamp wins without any doubts.
Practically, any CometPlayer configuration can easily be found and even in an improved form in Winamp, from sound equalizer and lyrics to play options and hotkeys existence. Also, the application lacks the option to listen radio broadcasts and important settings, like Enqueue and Jump to File, frequently used by many users.
My guess is that CometPlayer was designed for beginner users who prefer to keep it simple, with few functions. Even though it comes at no price, I believe that you can find better solutions over the Internet that offer you an enjoyable music environment.
Pros
- User-friendly interface
- You can create music playlists
- Comes with an equalizer and a built-in search engine
- You can customize the hotkeys however you like
Cons
- Lacks the "Enqueue" and "Jump to file" options
- Does not display lyrics for any played song
- Unable to stream radio broadcasts
'jump to file' = find. Lyrics are shown like movie subtitles, you can get this 'subtitle' from MiniLyrics, etc.
